Perseus – 44°42'57.1"N 85°49'02.9"W

This work attempts to deepen our innate connection to the stars through the use of light and water, an immersive experience that invites contemplation. The isolation of the lake created an opportunity to explore the etheric surroundings in relative solitude, allowing me to replicate what is in the sky above, below in the water. The submerged lights were placed to reflect the major stars of the constellation Perseus that is directly overhead. I am drawn to water because of its ability to transmit, reflect, or subdue light. The inherent fluidity creates constant variation—just as the skies are perpetually moving and changing, yet, both spaces are just out of reach.
